The Calgary Construction Association said the province's withdrawal of funding sets 'a concerning precedent' for future infrastructure projects by introducing uncertainty and risk.

WATCH: Calgary' Mayor Jyoti Gondek has met with provincial representatives after the Government of Alberta pulled its funding for Calgary's Green Line LRT. As Adam MacVicar reports, industry and political leaders worry the situation has harmed the city's reputation in the market., following council’s decision to shorten the first phase of the line due to a more than $700-million increase to its budget.

“When we receive the third party developed options we will determine next steps,” Dreeshen said in a statement. While builders factor risk into their contracts, CCA president Bill Black said it could result in higher costs if a solution isn’t found quickly.
