Sept 13 - Goldman Sachs and J.P.Morgan on Wednesday cut their full-year growth forecast for the UK's gross domestic product , citing an unexpectedly sharp contraction in the economy in July.
The Office for National Statistics said GDP shrank 0.5% in July from June, worse than all forecasts in a Reuters poll of economists that had predicted a contraction of 0.2%. While the ONS blamed bad weather and industrial action by doctors for the economic contraction, the global banks said that a sharp downturn in the private sector led to the weakness and suggested slowing momentum.
