On Tuesday (July 13) morning, Global Citizen announced details for Global Citizen Live, which will take place across six continents on Sept. 25.

The international event, which focuses on fighting climate change and famine, includes an eclectic list of music stars, including The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, BTS, Coldplay, Billie Eilish, Shawn Mendes, Lizzo, Andrea Bocelli, Metallica, Lorde, Doja Cat, Keith Urban, Usher, H.E.R., Duran Duran, Femi Kuti and Lang Lang, with more names to be announced.

Taking place over 24 hours, the performance-filled global event calls on businesses and philanthropists to contribute resources to provide meals for more than 40 million people on the brink of famine and restore at least 1 billion trees to curb climate change by 2022, among other initiatives.

"COVID-19 has drastically reversed the progress toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals pushing upwards of 160 million people back into extreme poverty," says Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans."There are now more than 40 million people on the brink of famine. Progress on climate change has halted, as the majority of the Fortune 500 fail to set science-based carbon reduction targets.

Global Citizen Live will air on ABC, ABC News Live, BBC, FX, iHeartRadio, Hulu, YouTube, Twitter and more with live performances broadcast from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America, including a live event in New York City's Central Park.
