After opening the season with losses in Buffalo and Toronto, the Senators were looking for their first road win here. Smith was forced to make one change with defenceman Artem Zub sidelined for at least week with an upper body injury.Article content With the Senators outshot 46-17 through two periods, Forsberg was under fire most of the game, but he needed to make the stop on Carter Verhaeghe’s second of the game with only 36.5 seconds left in the second to give the Panthers a 3-2 lead.Article content
The first period was a complete and total disaster. The Senators were only down 2-0 thanks to Forsberg because the club was outshot 24-6.
