Garlic festival draws ‘phenomenal’ crowd to Windsor, N.S.

VanEssa Roberts, the manager of community economic development for the West Hants Regional Municipality, was pleased with the response.

The festival features an abundance of garlic and fresh produce to purchase, a juried art show, live music, food, demonstrations, and a garlic-eating contest. The festival was launched in 2013 in Avondale by Kathy Monroe and it steadily grew in popularity. The pandemic halted the festival, but it resumed in 2022, relocating to Windsor and being hosted by the municipality.
