To join in with the discussions yourself email gamecentral@metro.co.uk Award losersI saw the nominations for the Bafta Game Awards and what amazes me is how they manage to make a banner year seem so unremarkable. How does Spider-Man 2 pick up nine nominations, only one less than Baldur’s Gate 3 and well ahead of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom? Even if you say Zelda suffered because it’s a sequel so is Spider-Man 2.
Finding out about games is no good when they’re just 7/10 indie titles, because who cares that much? A lot of these games have weird concepts, which is good, but you need to learn more about them to get excited and a pre-rendered trailer isn’t going to do that. Like, Sleight Of Hand. It’s a game with a witch where you throwing playing cards at people? So is it a stealth game? An action game? A strategy game? I’ve no idea and the trailer certainly didn’t tell me.
