North of the jubilant scenes is a steady stream of sun-kissed fans making their way across the William Commanda and Chaudière bridges to join the party from the Outaouais. The sound of the nearby falls complements the buzz. They also think back to the upstart years of 1997 and 1998, the final fours in 2003 and 2017, 2013’s pesky bunch, the Hamburglar stealing wins in 2015, and of course the magic of 2007’s ride to the final. The youngest fans are making memories this time around.
At the arena, the popular spot is the northside plaza, with those views of the water and skyline. The selfies fill up the socials. The Alfie statue and Peace Tower are in lots of them, as are the giant player banners.
