Oct 11 - Futures tracking Wall Street's main indexes advanced on Wednesday as U.S. Treasury yields continued to retreat, while investors awaited minutes from the Federal Reserve's last policy meeting and fresh inflation data.
Yields on government bonds have eased from their multi-year highs on dovish remarks from Fed officials earlier this week. "Recent developments support our view that yields should move lower over the coming 6–12 months ... we foresee further cooling in inflation and slower global growth," Mark Haefele, chief investment officer at UBS Global Wealth Management, said.
Meanwhile, the conflict in Middle East raged on as Israel bombed Gaza overnight ahead of a potential ground assault against Palestinian Islamist group Hamas. At 6:57 a.m. ET, Dow e-minis were up 76 points, or 0.22%, S&P 500 e-minis were up 10.75 points, or 0.24%, and Nasdaq 100 e-minis were up 52.25 points, or 0.34%.
