If passed, the Act will require the union members to return to work until an essential services agreement is established, at which point labour action may resume. “We recognize the valuable role private and community ambulance operators and service providers play in the delivery of health care in our province, and it was our hope that the parties could come to an agreement in this labour dispute,” he said.
But the ambulance staff went on strike and withdrew all services as of noon Friday, alleging unfair actions by the employer.
