Have a break, have a Kit Kat waffle!
’s eye was an unusual Kit Kat flavour on the waffle menu, which piqued our curiosity to buy one and try from the Tanjong Pagar Plaza outlet. We expected to get Kit Kat chocolate wafer bars sandwiched between a hot waffle, but the Kit Kat here is actually a choc spread.
Our waffle was made a la minute, true to iBread’s amusing Singlish tagline . Similar to the regular chocolate flavour, the Kit Kat spread was slathered on the waffle once it was cooked. There are six other waffle flavours such as a classic Peanut, Cheese and Kaya. You can also mix two toppings of your choice for $2.70.While the waffle was fluffy and thick with a soft, chewy bite, we reckon it could be crispier. Despite eating it straight from the waffle press, it was a little soggy from being undercooked.
Much like the Kit Kat bar, the spread tasted chocolatey and was not too rich. Wafer bits in the spread added to the crispiness of the waffle. The bakery staff was generous enough with the spread, so we got a good Kit Kat to waffle ratio. We don’t find this the most fantastic waffle out there, but the Kit Kat flavour is a fun alternative to the usual heartland bakery waffle options. Do note that only the Tanjong Pagar, Beauty World Centre and Hougang outlets serve this Kit Kat waffle.
