Australia and England meet for the most highly-anticipated Ashes series in years when they lock horns on Friday at Edgbaston. Here's everything you need to know.
There is a dedicated red cricket button on the ABC Listen App and ABC Sport website which will broadcast every ball, live, uninterrupted and commercial free. You can also listen on ABC Sport Digital in all capital cities, while those of you in regional areas will hear live coverage on your regular analogue radio outside of the ABC's football commitments. The ABC will run a full live and interactive blog for each and every day, well night, of this year's Ashes series from 7:30pm AEST.
As well as all the live analysis and description of events from the UK, we will have a full analysis of each day's play ready for your reading pleasure the following morning, plus a summary of all the events you missed while you were asleep. This year's series is being played in England across five Test matches.
The first Test will take place at Edgbaston in Birmingham, before the series moves to Lord's in London for the second Test. The storied venue Headingley in Leeds will host the third Test of the series before shifting to the other side of the Pennines for a trip to Manchester's Old Trafford. The series concludes back in London, at The Oval, the scene of Australia's World Test Championship victory over India earlier in the month.Compare that to England's record in Australia, and you get a sense of how much more even an Ashes series in England can be.
