SINGAPORE - The fees for lasting power of attorney applications have been waived as part of a new campaign launched on Saturday to encourage more Singaporeans above the age of 50 to have better end-of-life planning.
There is a waiver of the legal fee, typically priced between $25 and $80, by pro bono lawyers. This is in addition to a waiver of the $75 application fee, a current scheme that will run until the end of March 2026. But despite their lack of knowledge about the two plans, the majority of respondents agreed the plans are important for providing greater peace of mind for their families.
