Daniel Andrews fired back after a CFMEU union official quit in response to the Victorian government’s decision to end native logging, six years earlier than first announced.
amid criticism from the Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union .
The announcement subsequently led to the CFMEU’s Michael O’Connor resigning from the Victorian Forestry Plan Advisory Committee, citing the government’s failure to consult. But speaking on Wednesday, Mr Andrews rebuffed the claims, insisting his government is being honest with workers.“This is all about being honest and upfront with hundreds and hundreds of workers.”
