Australia have made the perfect start to Day 2 at Modi Stadium.
Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green have been impenetrable at the crease in a near-flawless session of tough Test match cricket. Khawaja has inched along as watchful as he was on Day 1, bringing up his 150 just minutes before the lunch break.“He’s been an epitomy of what being ‘in the zone’ is,” former India wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik added.Green meantime has powered on to 95 after resuming on his overnight score of 49.
Green played three beautiful drives through the off side for four in one over against Umesh Yadav and reached the 90s with an imperious pull shot in the last over before lunch against Mohammed Shami. “He’s obviously seeing the ball like a beach ball now,” former Australia fast bowler Mitchell Johnson said after the boundary.“They looked totally untroubled in that session of play. India threw everything at them,” Shastri said as the pair walked off.
