Four Newfoundland and Labrador educators have been awarded a Prime Minister’s Award, which is Canada’s highest honour for teachers and early childhood educators.ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Four Newfoundland and Labrador educators have been recognized nationally for excellence in teaching.
Phillips was presented the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence. The award is given to innovative elementary and secondary school teachers who are recognized for their educational achievements, as well as their commitment to preparing their students for a digital and innovation‑based economy.
Locke teaches Biology and Writing to grades 10 to 12 at Holy Spirit High School in Conception Bay South. Grant-Pretty teaches Math, Science, Technology and Library to kindergarten to grade 12 students at Holy Name of Mary Academy in Lawn.
