Four men have been charged with statutory rape after being accused of gang raping a 15-year-old girl in Oslob, Cebu.
Four men were charged with statutory rape by the Cebu Provincial Prosecutors Office on Friday, December 27, 2024, for the alleged gang rape of a 15-year-old girl in Oslob town, Cebu province. The alleged gang rape occurred on December 10, 2024, at 4 am in an abandoned house in Sitio Kawayan, Barangay Poblacion, Oslob. Three witnesses were sworn in and testified, pointing to two friends and two acquaintances from Dalaguete town as the perpetrators.
A copy of the CCTV camera footage, which shows the victim and the four suspects together, was also presented as evidence. After gathering all the information, a manhunt operation was launched by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group - Cebu Provincial Field Unit on December 19, 2024, which resulted in the arrest of the four suspects. The Oslob Police Station clarified that it was not 13 men who allegedly assaulted the victim contrary to initial reports, but only four based on the evidence they have. However, they said that their investigation is ongoing and they are still gathering more evidence. The results of the autopsy on the victim are expected to be released next week
