A truck crashed through part of a house and was partly hanging over a 10-metre cliff at Caringbah South, but no one was seriously injured
The cabin of a truck that crashed through part of a house in Sydney’s south on Saturday morning was left hanging over a 10-metre cliff in what rescuers described as a “fortunate escape” for the two occupants of the vehicle.
The truck went down a steep hill at Weerona Place where it crashed through the front of an unoccupied home that was undergoing renovations, he said.A man and a woman were trapped in the front of the truck until firefighters, who had to force entry into the home, managed to free them. The home’s structural integrity was compromised by the crash and the truck is now holding up the roof, Dewberry said. Specialist contractors will now take over the scene and police have declared the area a “danger zone”.
