The heavy reduction comes after the airline was found to have illegally sacked ground staff under his leadership, and a recent ACCC settlement over flight cancellations. The former CEO’s departing pay packet, worth about $23 million when he resigned last year, will be cut by $9.26 million.
36 million worth of Qantas shares. His short-term incentive bonus was also cut by 33 per cent to $900,000. “The events that damaged Qantas and its reputation and caused considerable harm to relationships with customers, employees and other stakeholders were due to a number of factors,” the statement said.
