Jasmine Chambers is suing the Bureau of Meteorology alleging she was fired after taking two days of leave in Paris.

A former senior manager at the Bureau of Meteorology has told a court she would have been happy to do “any activity” at the agency including delivering mail after her position was made redundant, but another job was not found for her and she was left feeling isolated.

Chambers, who had been the bureau’s general manager of global and national science relationships, was quizzed about whether she applied for any jobs after July 2020, when her role was abolished. Chambers detailed in court documents that she made an internal complaint in November 2019 about bullying and harassment at the bureau, including not having her expenses paid and being threatened with dismissal in August 2019.
