KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 — Former Parti Amanah Negara assemblyman Muhammad Faiz Fadzil was today granted a discharge not amounting to an acquittal by the Sessions Court over the offence of alleged sexual assault against a woman three years ago.
When contacted by reporters, lawyer Abdul Aziz Hamzah who is representing Faiz said the DNAA follows the submission of a representation bid to the Attorney General’s Chambers on August 17. A DNAA means an accused person can face trial for the same charges in the future if the prosecution decides to reinstate them.He contested in the recent state election of Penang last month under the Permatang Pasir seat but lost to Perikatan Nasional’s Amir Hamzah.
