Ford was on the CKDO morning show on Thursday and told Durham Radio News that Whitby will be getting a proposed new hospital, but not yet. He said the planning grant is coming.However, Ford said Whitby is for sure in mind when they issue new grants.“There’s going to be Whitby hospital,” stated Ford. “Is it going to be tomorrow? Not tomorrow, but down the road, very shortly, we will be issuing the planning grants.
Both the $3 million capital planning grant for Lakeridge Health and the disposition of the land for the new hospital are necessary for the project to move forward. We are committed to continuing our campaign over the next seven weeks, or until a formal announcement from the Province is made for the planning grant and the land disposition.
