I’m deeply saddened by the tragic death and loss of a young girl in Scarborough last night. I can’t imagine the pain of losing a child and my deepest condolences go out to her family, friends and loved ones.At about 6:30 p.m. last night, Toronto Police Service responded to a call for unknown trouble at an apartment near Dundalk Drive and Antrim Crescent, which is just west of Kennedy Road and south of Highway 401.
Another young person, identified by Det. Sgt. Brandon Price of the Homicide and Missing Persons Unit as a “youth-age” individual, was located with injuries at the scene.Investigators would not elaborate on what kind of relationship the girl and the youth in custody may have had. They are also not revealing the age of the pair at this time.
“So I mean, at this point in the investigation, like as I mentioned, it's quite early still, but we believe is an isolated incident and there's not an ongoing threat at this point that we can identify,” said Price, who spoke with the media at the scene early Wednesday morning.
