Floods: Thousands of tent distributed to victims in Johor

JOHOR BARU: Johor has channelled almost 18,000 tents to be used by flood victims at high-risk locations throughout the state, decreed Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar.

His Majesty added that flood preparations were made annually and updated accordingly by the state disaster management committee, which is chaired by the state secretary Datuk Azmi Rohani.

"Assistance is not only for when a flood occurs, but also needs to be provided to continue the life of victims after the disaster. Earlier, Sultan Ibrahim visited a relief centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Tenang in Labis to visit 272 flood victims from 93 families seeking shelter there.
