KUALA LUMPUR: The flood situation in Penang is on the verge of recovery as both relief centres in two districts in the state were shut down, while the number of flood victims in Johor and Sabah is also decreasing.
In Penang, Environment and Welfare Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh said all 59 flood victims from 17 families placed at the Kubang Menerong Community Hall in Seberang Perai Utara and SK Bakap Indah, Seberang Perai Selatan were allowed to return home on Saturday evening.
In Johor, the number of victims at relief centres decrease to 769 people as of 8 pm, compared to 819 recorded at 4 pm.
