"Hindi napansin ng marami na nag-took effect na ang integration natin dito sa ASEAN," according to Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro.ASEAN member countries committed to free trade and economic integration in 2017.
"Ano ang nangyari? Ang taripa nawala. Ang mga produkto malaya nang nakakapasok sa merkado ng iba't ibang bansa na narito sa ASEAN," Teodoro said.Teodoro said that while the shoe industry is still alive in Marikina, they can feel the effects of the said trade integration.
