Flexible poles likely to be installed at KL junction

This is to help motorists navigate better at the accident-prone site.

This is following a site visit by Kuala Lumpur City Hall , MRT Corp representatives and Batu MP P. Prabakaran last month after receiving complaints from residents in the area.

There was a proposal for flexible poles, which are usually about 0.75m high and in bright orange and white, to be installed to separate the lanes for vehicles heading straight from those turning into Jalan St Thomas.Residents claimed that the accidents were mainly because of improper traffic sequencing and traffic blindspots as a result of its proximity to the MRT station.Motorists were previously allowed to drive straight or make a right turn when the lights turn green.

The new traffic light system was introduced following a site visit by officers from DBKL Infrastructure Planning Department and Urban Transportation Department, Batu Residents Representative Council and MRT Corp on April 11, 2022.
