With Oliver Kylington away from the team due to personal reasons, there’s a temporary opening on the Flames’ third pairing. The frontrunner seems to be Nicolas Meloche, a hard-nosed right-hander who was signed to a one-way contract as a free agent. Meloche has been telling reporters he tries to model his game after Erik Gudbranson, and he could immediately slide into his old spot in the lineup.
