A fisherman is feared dead following a reported crocodile attack in far north Queensland.
A search is continuing for the 65-year-old man from Laura, on Cape York, who went missing in the Lakefield National Park, about 340 kilometres north-west of Cairns, at 3.30pm on Saturday.The man was said to have been in distress before bystanders heard a splash near the Kennedy Bend campsite.
He was still missing on Sunday morning, despite an aerial search late on Saturday. Emergency crews, including wildlife officers, police, SES, and a rescue helicopter, were still looking for him.The 44-year-old managed to escape by jabbing the crocodile in the eyes after it tried to drown him.
