Firefighters doused a vehicle fire before the flames could spread to a single family home on Carp Road Tuesday using what\u0027s known as a \u0022long lay\u0022 of hose up the narrow laneway.

The fire was under control at 2:34 p.m. Tuesday. Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to check all the walls of the garage for high levels of heat, confirming they’d put out the fire before it could spread to the garage or the home.Recommended from Editorial
