The fire appears to be accidental, say Saanich police

The fire, in a grassy area near Blanshard Street and Saanich Road, was quickly extinguished around 1:30 p.m. without any injury or damage to property, said Saanich police spokesman Const.

Markus Anastasiades.Two people were briefly placed in handcuffs at the scene, but were quickly released when it was determined they were not involved in setting the fire, Anastasiades said.
