Victoria’s firefighting service says a cyberattack has disrupted its dispatch and email systems, forcing firefighters to rely on radios and mobile phones when responding to emergencies

The outage has affected most of the emergency service’s IT systems, including its network, emails and dispatch. However, it said community safety had not been compromised and crews were still getting dispatched to emergencies.Credit:“We have taken decisive action in response to this incident and are working around the clock with specialist cybersecurity firms and our partners in the state and federal governments, including the Australian Cyber Security Centre,” the service said.
