The District of Highlands said there has been no risk to residents or homes as of Tuesday morning.
Crews from the Highlands Fire Department and B.C. Wildfire Service are fighting a blaze in Gowlland Tod Provincial Park, near Viart Road.
An 8:40 a.m. update from the District of Highlands said there has been no risk to residents or homes. The overnight growth of the fire was slow as firefighters worked to get to the scene, which was deemed inaccessible at 3 a.m. Crews have been assisted this morning by Langford Fire Rescue’s marine unit to get access from the water.
