Hillside residents encouraged to boil water

New Glasgow Regional Police are advising residents to stay home. Officers, currently on patrol are reporting downed power lines and downed trees, obstructing various streets and sidewalks due to the strong hurricane winds. These roads and sidewalks in various locations are currently impassable. "It is important to stay inside as strong winds currently are creating dangerous conditions outside as downed power lines and flying debris are currently in effect," a release from New Glasgow Regional Police Const. Ken Macdonald said.The RCMP are advising people to stay away from Caladh Ave. in Pictou, which is closed due to flooding.
