Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital Teo Nie Ching says she has asked the Malaysian National Film Development Corporation to review the standard operating procedure regarding the granting of grants to applicants to prevent any misappropriation. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, April 15, 2023.
“All 47 of them have received a ‘letter of demand’, and only three of them have responded to it and in reimbursing the fund proved that they admitted to wrongdoing. Teo, who is also Kulai member of parliament, said this in response to a news report that Finas had sued 47 individuals and production companies after they were found to have failed to produce any films using the RM20 million that was given to them.
