But the heart of the doc is Joseph, Marlvin, Pardon and Tinashe, who relate their stories of leaving Zimbabwe in the hopes of a better life in South Africa, only to face violence and discrimination in their newly adopted homeland. It’s an all-too-familiar tale of displacement and trauma, but any bitterness is more than dispelled by the doc’s tone. Notes of joy, ambition, triumph and perseverance.
