Filipinos are enjoying a long weekend from December 28th to January 1st, 2025, offering a chance to travel. Klook's 2024 Travel Pulse study revealed Filipinos allocate P15,000 to P50,000 for international trips and P15,000 to P30,000 for domestic ones. The last quarter of the year is peak season for travel in the Philippines. The country boasts Southeast Asia's largest domestic tourism market, valued at over $52.1 billion in 2023 and projected to reach $66.2 billion by year-end.
Popular domestic destinations include Boracay, Baguio, Palawan, Siargao, and Cebu. While many Filipinos enjoy domestic travel, outbound destinations like Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, and Singapore remain popular, with four of the top five offering visa-free travel. Japan's relaxed visa rules in 2018 have fueled increased travel demand, leading to more flight options.
