MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transport ation assured Filipinos of safe travel this Christmas season.In a statement, Transport ation Secretary Jaime Bautista said the department and all its attached agencies remained on heightened alert for the Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Pasko 2024 initiative, which will run until Jan. 3, 2025.

The PCG said it has deployed 2,854 frontline personnel across its 16 districts, who have inspected 182 vessels and 28 motorbancas.To handle the influx of port passengers, PCG districts, stations, and sub-stations have been on heightened alert since Dec. 20, 2024 until Jan. 3, 2025.On Sunday, Dec. 22, Bautista personally led the inspections of NAIA Terminal 3 and North Harbor Port to ensure preparedness for the anticipated surge in passengers.
