Protesters marking the 161st birth anniversary of revolutionary hero Andres Bonifacio breached police barricades in Manila, leading to injuries among police officers.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported on Saturday that several of its officers were injured after protesters, marking the 161st birth anniversary of revolutionary hero Andres Bonifacio , breached their barricade on CM Recto Avenue in Manila. One police officer suffered an eye injury and others sustained minor abrasions.
The PNP condemned the 'acts of violence' and highlighted the police's commitment to maintaining public order while upholding the rights to free speech and peaceful assembly. The PNP reiterated its stance against any form of violence and emphasized the accountability of those involved
