The City of Oshawa is inviting citizens and stakeholders to lend their thoughts on the proposed Community Benefits Charge Strategy.

The charge can be collected by municipalities to make sure there are enough resources to address population growth.Long-term care homes, hospices, universities, non-profit housing and Indigenous Institutes would be exempt. The charge would be worth $147 for each unit with two or more bedrooms. The charge would go down to $90 for each bachelor or one-bedroom unit.
