Ford’s plans to build housing on the Greenbelt, forced sales in the GTA and the Liberal-NDP governing agreement.

The federal government is planning to launch an environmental study of Rouge National Urban Park, which could ultimately enable Ottawa to stop housing developments there, the environment minister suggested. “If we come to the conclusion is that they have irreversible impact on species at risk, then these projects won’t be allowed to go forward,” Steven Guilbeault said. Doug Ford, however, seemed incredulous.
