KULIM: A farmer has been remanded for six days to assist in an investigation related to the death of a child suspected of eating poisoned crackers on Thursday .

The remand order for the 33-year-old man was granted by Sessions Court Judge Mirza Mohamad starting today until July 17, reported Astro Awani. Kulim district police chief Supt Mohd Azizul Mohd Khairi said the case will be investigated under Section 31 of the Child Act 2001 for child neglect and Section 284 of the Penal Code for negligent conduct regarding poisonous substances.Investigations revealed that the man, who is from Kampung Padang Ubi, has no past criminal record or drug offences.
