Nicole Kidman stars in the television adaptation of Nine Perfect Stranger and Liane’s latest book, Apples Never Fall, is being made into a series starring Sam O’Neill and Annette Bening.Liane once told a journalist that after each novel is finished, she celebrates with friends and family at Bathers Pavilion in Balmoral. Now the author will be able to walk to the restaurant from her new home, swapping a tennis court in Pymble for a view out to the Heads and proximity to Balmoral Beach.

The five-bedroom, five-bathroom house with pool was marketed by Stefon Bertram, of Pello Lower North Shore. He declined to comment on the sale. However records show that property sold two weeks before its expressions of interest campaign closed suggesting the three-level home was strongly contested.The house did have a $19m guide and it is believed to have sold for around $19.5m.

The house was created by well-known architect Susan Rothwell and has been renovated with a new internal lift to all levels and bespoke interiors. There is a majestic entrance, dramatic elliptical staircase, limestone floors and a marble island kitchen with imported Italian cabinetry and a butler’s pantry.The house sits amid a landscaped garden with an automated gated driveway.
