In its response to a lawsuit brought by her patients, the PHSA says another 258 had charts reviewed by convicted fraudster Brigitte Cleroux

The PHSA says in its response to the suit that some claims of injury or improper care by Cleroux contain inaccurate information or conjecture, and that the claims by five representative patients vary so widely in their allegations of malpractice that they should not be judged together as part of a class action.
Cleroux was sent to jail for seven years in April 2022 after being convicted on similar charges in Ottawa, including assault, assault with a weapon, fraud and impersonation. She had used the name of a real nurse in Vancouver to get hired there at a fertility clinic and dental surgery clinic.Article content
The class-action claims the PHSA hired Cleroux without a proper review of her credentials, despite the fact she had “an extensive history of using forged credentials to work illegally as a nurse,” information the suit claims was a matter of public record “readily available” to the PHSA.
