A former Socceroos goalkeeper has revealed the advice he would give the Matildas ahead of their World Cup quarter-final against France and his thoughts on how Tony Gustavsson will use Sam Kerr.
The former Socceroos goalkeeper predicted a Matildas 2-1 win in a very tight match against Les Bleus, meaning they would enter uncharted territory for Australia in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Picture: Marc Atkins/Getty Images Australia will start as the outsiders when they take the field on Saturday night, but Schwarzer said the Matildas should be full of confidence after stellar performances in their last two games against Canda and Demark.
“If you look at the Canada game what Tony Gustavsson did was change the positions certainly Caitlin Foord putting her out wide on the left hand side, Mary Fowler through as a number nine and I think people underestimate how big an influence Emily Van Egmond’s had in that number 10 role,” he said.
