Popular former NRL player Josh Mansour has apologised after receiving backlash over an upcoming podcast with Taylan May. The episode was promoted as “Taylan May uncut” on Sunday night and received an immediate response from rugby league fans. May is fighting domestic violence charges stemming from an alleged incident in April, pleading not guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two counts of stalking.

“I wholeheartedly apologise for the lack of foresight and timing to interview Taylan, especially before court proceedings could take place. “My intention was to get a better understanding of Taylan as a person and his upbringing around rugby league. Again, the timing was poor. It was poor judgement on my behalf and I own that. “Finally, given the allegations, please understand, I personally would never condone domestic violence in any shape or form.
