The Gore Street non-profit served upwards of 300 free meals for the less fortunate on Saturday, which included turkey and all its tasty holiday trimmings
More than a dozen volunteers with Save Our Young Adults were hard at work on Saturday as they served up Thanksgiving meals for the less fortunate.
“We’ve basically doubled since last year,” she told SooToday. “We may end up running out, but even if they get peanut butter and jam sandwiches, they’ll be appreciative. They’re always appreciative.”Meal preparation included eight turkeys, eight hams, 300 pounds of potatoes, 150 pounds of turnips, an assortment of vegetables, and 300 desserts.
