A drop in Chinese demand by 15 million tonnes as well as reduced LNG imports by South Asian buyers due to high prices helped Europe acquire supply
Europe’s growing need for liquefied natural gas will boost competition with Asia for LNG over the next two years as supply remains limited, Shell said on Thursday.
“The faster the growth in Chinese economic demand and therefore in the LNG demand, the tighter the market will be.” “When we look at the characteristics that Europe had that allowed it to play that balancing role , many of them are positioned in China today, or have been growing very rapidly in China today,” Hill said.
