According to the entertainment news site Deadline, Fox 2000 has purchased the rights to a romantic comedy inspired by the Westmount tennis star’s wager. The bet was made during the Super Bowl LI in 2017 when the Atlanta Falcons held a significant lead over the New England Patriots. Bouchard posted a tweet claiming she knew the Falcons were going to win. Patriots fan John Goehrke responded by asking if she would agree to go on a date if the Patriots won. Bouchard agreed and the Patriots managed the most spectacular comeback in Super Bowl history to finally win 34-28.— Genie Bouchard February 6, 2017The Wimbledon finalist in 2014 honoured the promise a few weeks later, meeting Goehrke for a Brooklyn Nets basketball game.
