European Union Ambassador to the Philippines Luc Veron on Saturday, Feb. 18, sent his sympathies and well wishes to Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal “Bombit” Adiong Jr. after his convoy was ambushed.

“Speedy recovery to @lgu_lanaodelsur Gov. Bombit Alonto Adiong and my deepest condolences to the families of his staff who were killed in yesterday‘s attack,” Veron wrote.Adiong and one of his aides—Ali Macapado Tabao—were hurt and four of their companions were killed during an ambush along the boundary of Lanao del Sur and Bukidnon on Friday, Feb. 17.The four killed were identified as Juraij Adiong, Aga Sumandar, Jalil Cosain, and a driver identified only as Kobi.
