Victoria police have blocked off a stretch of Admirals Road in Esquimalt due to a gas leak, and anyone in the area is being asked to shelter in place as crews repair the damage. While people in the area of Admirals and Esquimalt roads do not have to evacuate at this time, crews have advised “some buildings” to shelter in place as Fortis BC responds, according to the Township of Esquimalt in“Traffic is congested in the area due to the response, please avoid the intersection if possible,” the township said in the post at 12:17 p.m. at 12:22 p.m. on Oct. 23 to say Admirals between Esquimalt and Woodway roads was closed due to a hit gas line.
“Officers are on scene assisting with traffic control & the closure is expected to last for the remainder of the day.
